Servicers of residential loans that are guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs will soon need to comply with a revised handbook.
VA servicers that service the loans through the VA Loan Electronic Reporting Interface system are subject to the VA Servicer Handbook.
The handbook provides operational policies and procedures and discusses the roles and responsibilities for VA Loan Administration staff and servicers.
The agency has released
version M26-4 of the handbook.
“The updated handbook was written as a tool for all servicers participating in the VA Home Loan program and does not change or supersede any regulation or law affecting the program,” Circular 26-15-22 from the Veterans Benefit Administration said.
VA servicers have until Nov. 1 to review the updated version of the handbook and
ensure compliance with the established policy and guidance.
The handbook is good through the end of fiscal-year 2016 on Sept. 30, 2016.
It can be viewed online at
