JPMorgan Chase & Co. plans to hire hundreds of new mortgage employees for two document management facilities in Louisiana.
The company has plans to recruit 410 mortgage employees in Monroe, La., Chase spokesman Greg Hassell said in a telephone interview.
The recruiting starts on Jan. 5, when the lender will hold a job fair for 250 of the openings. The additions are for positions ranging from entry level positions to management.
The new hires will work at a document management facility that handles mortgage records for borrowers across the nation. The staffing expansion is part of a project to enhance file reviews.
Hassell explained that 60 percent of the jobs will be permanent, while 40 percent will be temporary positions.
Chase also has rented a warehouse that formerly operated as an Albertsons warehouse. The lease is only for two years, and 160 people will be hired to staff the location.
Hiring will begin in March 2012 for jobs at the warehouse. Recruiting is expected to be completed within two months.
The new staff will take documents inherited from acquisitions such as Washington Mutual Bank and digitize them as images.
Just 40 percent of the employees will be permanent, while the rest will be temporary.
