A New York-based FHA lender is hoping to hire a hundred new loan originators by the end of this year. The company is prepared to provide extensive training for salespeople who might not have any mortgage experience.
The company, Lend America, announced today that it will hold an open house at its Melville, N.Y., headquarters on Oct. 14 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
“This recruitment effort acts as a launching pad to a wide range of high-paying, best in class employment opportunities for credible sales professionals,” the news release said.
Headcount at Lend America currently sits at 690 employees.
But the firm, which is more than 25 years old, is going on a hiring blitz during the next six months, according to Chief Marketing Officer Mary McPhail.
Lend America plans to recruit around 100 loan originators by Dec. 31, McPhail said in a statement to MortgageDaily.com.
“At this time, we are focusing on sales professionals — with or without mortgage experience,” McPhail said.
She indicated that new hires will earn a “spot on our sales floor” only after a two- to three-month probationary period — adding, “Our goal is to add a higher quality, better skilled and credible mortgage sales professionals to our team.”
“Extensive training is mandatory, and each person is paid while training,” the spokeswoman explained. “After a successful probationary period of training, testing … they are given a higher base salary and higher percentage of commission on sales.”
She noted that an expansion in the operations divisions could follow increases in the sales force.
