| Nearly 200 Indiana employees will be laid of from Citigroup, though some will may find other positions at the company.
The New York-based company will close a bill statement processing center located in South Bend, Ind., spokeswoman Janis Tarter confirmed in an e-mail statement to MortgageDaily.com. The closing will result in 194 layoffs. The facility prints statements for a number of units at Citi, including CitiMortgage. “We are encouraging these employees to explore other positions within Citi and we are helping to facilitate that,” Tarter said. “Citi’s consumer business has more than 50 operations and technology sites in the U.S.” Last month, CitiMortgage notified around 180 employees in Des Moines, Iowa, and Great Falls, Mont., that their jobs will be eliminated by this summer. |
