| First American Corp. is shutting down a mortgage outsourcing operation in the Midwest, and cutting jobs in the process.
The national provider of national information expects to permanently close its First American National Default Outsourcing office in Milwaukee on Dec. 30, according to according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act filing recently with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. The closing will affect approximately 169 jobs that have no “bumping rights,” the filing said. The filing did not express why the operation was being closed. Several MortgageDaily.com calls to First American were not returned. The company’s Web site suggests the Milwaukee center is part of First American’s mortgage information segment, which lists a Lewisville, Texas, location of First American National Default under that segment. |
